Are starters covered in the average used car warranty?

There is something wrong with my car causing the engine to not turn over. It doesn't even try. No noise at all.

I've narrowed the problem down to probably either a dead battery cell, a blown fuse, or the starter.
Does anyone know if these things are usually covered under warranty?
I just bought the car from my mom who's 1000 mi away, and dont have the info handy...
It is a used 2003 Kia Rio.

The engine and transmission other things would be just normal usewear and transmission other things would be just normal usewear and tear.

Estas cosas se consideran "desgaste normal" y no serán cubiertos por una garantía normal.

Well first of all, you have a Kia. That’s saying alot. They are way below average in reliability. Those things you mentioned could be the problem. Also, a bad ignition relay in the steering column is something to consider. Contact your local Kia dealer and run it past them. I wouldn’t be too suprised if they reject you immediately. They’ll fix it for sure, but don’t expect any help from Kia on this. G’luck.

chances are it is not covered. But the good news is that if you aren’t getting anything at all, the most likely cause is a dead battery, which is only about $100 to replace.
Take the battery out of the car and take it to an auto parts store, most stores will check the battery for free to see if it needs to be replaced. (it only takes a minute to check)
There is a good chance that a 2003 model car came with a 5 year battery when it was new, so its likely that the original battery would be at the end of its life right now.
