I bought a used car at a dealer, found out months later that it had no rear speakers and the speakers harness were cut. Took the car to the dealer, dealer said they weren't going repair the problem because they would have to replace the entire stereo harness. What should I do? Dealer knew the car had been modified and they didnt say anything about it before I purchased the car.

Your not going to like my answer, but when it comes to used cars. What you buy is what you get. IT is not always what you see.

They will not doing anything to help you out. Try going to a stereo shop and see how much it will be to fix it.

It sounds like someone that knew what they were doing could doctor that up for minimal cost. You just need to select the speakers.

The only possibility is not needed the only possibility is that new speaker wires may need to be run.

Maybe because it’s not important to the car operating safely. Just get some speakers and wire them in. Stop winning over the small stuff. Just solve the problem.

For free if you spend enough money on the speakers and no the dealer wont fix it for free if you spend enough money on the dealer wont fix it for free if you spend enough money on the spearkers and no the speakers and no the dealer.

Yes, and so? It does not affect the safe handling of the automobile. You missed it on your initial go around as it wasn’t a determining factor in buying the car.
Second question..what if it had tinny little speakers there – whats the diff.? You want something other than that, so that is your expense.

Chalk this one up as a learning experience. The dealer might be liable if they sold you a vehicle with a serious mechanical problem that they knew about and did not disclose to you….but a lack of speakers would not fall into that category.

Every used car is an adventure, you never really know what you’ve got until you’ve had it awhile and discovered it’s quirks. Next time pay a little closer attention, and you might find some of them a little sooner.

it was your job to look it over and make sure everything was working on it,i wouldn’t replace them either, their not liable for things that you miss,or don’t see before you buy it,if you had pointed this out to them they might have replaced them when you bought it ,but not now,and you can splice back in to the original harness to repair it,its not ruined,it just need speakers, that something you,ll have to repair, good luck with it.
