What are some things I need to know when buying a used car?

I am not very saavy when it comes to buying cars. I'm thinking about buying a used car and I'm meeting up with the seller for the first time. What are some things I should consider in terms of the car itself (inspection) and making the deal? Can anyone with some expertise in this area give me a list of things I should consider in making the deal? Thanks!

First, for anyone who is buying a car check the mileage. For a used car , the best mileage for it to last a couple of years is around 75,000 – 85,000. If its over that, do not buy it. Next, ask the owner if he/she can get an inspection on it. If the inspection is not good, do not buy it. This is more general stuff. Have Fun!

Look up the value of the car on or before you go. Make sure you get a clear title…no liens on it.
